Mongo (back when he was just regular old Adam) first picked up the baritone in middle school band—his one and only bit of formal training. But playing “Hot Cross Buns” wasn’t exactly the rockstar moment he was hoping for. So, like any good 13-year-old punk kid, he started sneaking into his brother’s room, snatching up an electric guitar, and cranking it all the way to 11. It was loud. It was messy. It was love. (That moment and the time he ended up backstage at a Ratt concert—ask him in person, it’s a story worth hearing.)
From there, Mongo taught himself bass, piano, drums, and started to sing and write music. Fast forward almost three decades, and he’s done just about everything—frontman, solo singer-songwriter, drummer, guitarist, he even had a weekly spot on a syndicated radio show—but most folks know him best with a bass slung over his shoulder.
Mongo lives for music in all its forms. He’s played stages across the country, rocking everything from metal, punk, ska, rock, reggae, bluegrass, R&B… heck, even polka and comedy rock! (Yes, really.) With a groove deeper than your grandma’s lasagna dish, Mongo brings the good vibes and the good times—every single time he hits the stage.
